Position Summary

The Inside Sales Specialist strives to exceed customer expectations and build strong relationships with customers. They actively identify and pursue leads, address customer’s questions and concerns, and meet sales quotas of solar systems and energy efficiency services.


  • Sales of commercial solar electric systems and energy efficiency services
  • Inbound calls on potential leads & outbound dialing required
  • Liaison between customer and outside sales team on closing deals
  • Prospecting for and qualifying leads
  • Utilizing online tools and conducting preliminary design evaluations to develop an initial system design. The design is primarily used to provide the customer with a visual example of how a solar system will look in his/her home
  • Potential to generate project proposals/quotes for customers
  • Analysis of customer’s current and projected electrical usage and financial return on investment
  • Must have a clear understanding of contract agreements and can explain and review agreements with customers
  • Communicating with project and design team throughout job completion
  • Logging all communications with customers in CRM contact database
  • Additional duties required as needed



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years’ experience of full sales cycle experience with a proven track record of success in a quota driven role
  • Proven ability to build and develop business relationships
  • Experience building a book of referral business
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic Excel
  • CRM experience
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills – Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm
  • Ability to anticipate, change and react efficiently and expeditiously
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize are essential to this role
  • Prior exposure to or experience with a high energy, fast paced environment
  • Ability to interact with others effectively – a good “people person”
  • Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis independently, and n collaboration with others
  • Creative thinker with the ability to make decisions and execute effectively
  • Maturity to handle confidential issues and communicate effectively with team members and senior executives


  • College degree preferred
  • Experience in the Solar Industry
  • Desire to stay on the leading edge of the solar and renewable energies industry
  • Understanding of general construction
  • Business to Business sales experience
  • Strong ability to project monthly sales numbers
