Position Summary:

This position is responsible for selling O&M (Operations & Maintenance) services to our existing customers, as well the customers of our competitors, past and present.  The position involves meeting potential customers in person, discussing the broader scope and benefits of our O&M services packages to help them maximize the performance of their PV installations, and building a book of clients through proactive networking and referrals to develop a long-term and loyal client base. This role will have sales goals and targets that will be established and measured periodically.


  • Prospecting – Identify O&M services opportunities through monitoring
    • Coordinate with sales and marketing team to identify and penetrate targeted market through various methods including exhibiting at trade shows, networking at industry association events, visiting owners of currently installed PV systems
    • Acquiring site as-built plan sets or at the very least equipment lists and design assumptions for quoting purposes
  • Search for orphaned installations for monitoring, claims and warranty management opportunities along with preventative services opportunities
  • Relationship development and management –  Develop relationships with prospects to qualify and convert them into opportunities with an identified value. Scheduling of time is critical to ensure that each lead is qualified, while making sure each individual is accessible for face to face meetings and presentations
  • Develop strategic relationships with business partners in the industry to facilitate ongoing lead development
    • Manage schedule, communication and activities with leads, opportunities, accounts, and strategic partners
    • Emphasize to prospects that we have devoted O&M field teams to ensure the maximum production and look for ways to optimize each photovoltaic asset’s return
    • Affirm that as their O&M partner, we will protect their asset and maximize their return.
    • Project Analysis and Management – Obtain necessary information to independently analyze and further qualify opportunities and proposals
    • Determine economic impact and benefits of adding a multi-year O&M services agreement to their initial PV investment
    • Generate proposal documents and manage internal sales support, O&M service team to support service agreement
    • Closing Sales and Post-SellSuccessfully drive and negotiate deals through final stages of commitment with the help of all available resources to close business in alignment with an annual sales goal
    • Manage smooth transition from Sales to Operational fulfillment to maximize customer satisfaction and obtain follow-on and referral business
  • Provide detailed reports of status, solutions and outcomes
  • Daily monitoring of the production of all existing systems and responding to any fluctuations accordingly
  • Monitoring performance of all existing sites and responding to all equipment faults and alarms in a timely manner
  • Communicating with vendors to resolve system failures and equipment malfunctions and coordinating technician site visits
  • Liaison between customer and technicians on the progress of service jobs
  • Create custom graphs to follow behavior on the monitoring platforms
  • All other duties as assigned by management


  • 2-3 years’ Sales experience with a track record of closing required
  • Basic technical knowledge of the solar industry preferred
  • Knowledge of solar DAS (Data Acquisition Systems) a plus
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for the solar and service industries would be beneficial
  • Ability to analyze trends
  • Understand PV systems and can communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Experience in service related industries in managing service dispatch and customers
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and prioritize competing demands
  • Ability to assess, solve, implement, and communicate outcomes of problems
  • High level of PV communication and monitoring experience
