Mustards Grill Goes Greener with Solar Power System by Coldwell Solar

Legendary Napa Valley eatery’s solar power system cuts electricity costs to zero

Rocklin, Calif., December 20, 2016: Coldwell Solar, the leading solar power contractor for the food and agricultural industries, announced the completion of a 170-kilowatt solar energy system for Mustards Grill. The system powers the iconic Napa Valley restaurant’s entire operations resulting in zero net electrical costs.

“Our goal in everything we do is to do it at the highest level of quality possible,” said Sean Knight, managing partner at Mustards Grill. ”We found the perfect partner for our solar installation in Coldwell Solar. They share an exceptional commitment to quality and attention to the smallest detail, and they did everything they said they would do and more.”

The restaurant, founded by renowned chef Cindy Pawlcyn in 1983, is famous for its high end “truck stop” cuisine with inspired American classics and has been a pioneer in sustainability with its on-site 2-acre organic garden and state-of-the-art water reclamation facility. Pawlcyn recently opened Cindy’s Waterfront restaurant at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, another pioneer in sustainability.

“Mustards Grill stands for quality, sustainability and authenticity,” said Dave Hood, CEO of Coldwell Solar. “It’s a great organization with great people, and our shared values made this a mutually rewarding project.”

Knight and his team visited sites built by Coldwell Solar and other bidders on the project and came away impressed by the workmanship and aesthetics of the Coldwell installations. “Dave Hood came out to inspect our system on a Sunday and felt the panels weren’t as aligned as they could be. He sent his crew out to make them perfect,” Knight said. “We were so impressed that the head of one of the largest solar companies in the state personally inspected the system.”

In addition to installing the solar power system, Coldwell Solar handled the communication with the local utility company, PG&E, completing the paperwork and ensuring the system went online as scheduled. Coldwell Solar has also committed to maintaining the system with biannual cleaning and maintenance for 10 years.
